The yearly fair dedicated to comics, cartoons and games was held in Lucca from 1 to 5 November 2006
This year, for the first time, the event was held within the actual walls of the city, and this created a unique setting!
Thanks to two beautiful sunny days, the number of visitors was unique, and all of them were there to admire the 900 Cosplayers walking around the town and waiting to take part to the contest, which was held on Saturday and Sunday.
A few minutes of the challenge were broadcast live on TV, at the program “Quelli che il calcio”, with Simona Ventura, who specially sent there the actor/director Maurizio Nichetti .
During the Cosplayers’ tournament, as a surprise, two famous dubbers appeared on the stage: Emanuela Pacotto and Leonardo Graziano, who dubbed live two characters from the cartoon “Naruto”: Sakura and Naruto.
In a period of great difficulty for fair and events (see the failure of Smau, in Milan), Lucca stands out with a quantity of visitors which other events could only dream of.
It might be for the atmosphere connected to cartoons and comics, which makes us feel kids again, or for the passion which both exhibitors and visitors showed, but around Lucca comics there’s really a positive energy, with pureness and people wanting to have fun in a genuine way!!Therefore, we send all our compliments to all those who arranged the events an to all the citizens of Lucca, for their kindness.
For sure also the town had great income from the event, but it’s so rare to see a whole town available to welcome so many visitors for 5 long days… THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
If you have never been there, we fully recommend you to go to Lucca to see this magic fair next year…
